Apa ini? (What is this?) Ok, here is the second installment of our little game! This is a fruit I have not tried but I am afraid I will have to before I leave. It doesn’t look too tasty to me!
So, remember: First person to respond with the correct answer gets prize! Sandra was pretty quick last week, so watch out for her!
Hope you all are doing well! I miss you!
Selamat menikmati! (Happy searching!)

turian, or durian fruit
i almost forgot to stop by to win!
It doesn’t look so yummy!
You guys are too fast! Theresa, how big is this? I read somewhere that it’s 2-5 kilos. Is it about the size of a kiwi? Do you eat the flesh inside the spikey part, or eat the meat/rat/root-looking part?
Yea for Ben! You got it!
The durian is also known as “stinky fruit.” It is the worst smell! Way worse than canteloupe. I don’t have words to describe ot. Yuck. I haven’t tasted it yet and don’t really want to.
2-5 kilos is 4-10 lbs. So, it is way bigger than a kiwi. It ranges from the size of a canteloupe to the size of a medium sized watermelon. And I am sad to say you eat the meat/rat/root-looking part, which is exactly why I haven’t tried it.
victory!
hey, i just noticed the rat shaped-ness of the insides. gross! i hate a rat.
theresa — i just read you should have felt an earthquake today/yesterday?
That rat-like part reminds me of the root in the movie “Pan’s Labyrinth.” And it makes me sad.
Oh, I still need to see that movie! I think it was an option on the plane. Maybe it will be on my way home. Sorry to make you sad!
